Release Notes: October 2021

The October 2021 release of Alinity was deployed to Test environments on October 14th and Production environments on October 21st. A summary of the changes included in this release appear below.

We’re moving platforms in 2022

If you have been following our monthly release blog posts closely, you will notice the number of new and improved features in this release is lower than we usually provide.  This is because our development team is working on migrating Alinity to a new hosting platform for early 2022. The new platform uses the latest versions of cloud and database technologies and Alinity is being upgraded to take advantage of them. This work will continue through the end of 2021.  We will continue to upgrade Alinity with bug fixes and new features each month but at a lower volume.

The new platform will provide better performance, better security, and will make new technologies available for further improvements to the product.  One of the new features we can take advantage of immediately after moving to the new hosting platform will allow us to automatically add computing resources to your system during peak periods like renewal, and automatically return to normal resource levels when demand drops.  There are new options for document storage that will allow us to reduce storage charges going forward. The software will look the same as it does on our current platform so no special planning or retraining is required for this move.   We are excited about starting this next chapter of Alinity’s progression.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

Change List

Change Type Applies To
***************New Feature***************
Elavon Payment Batch # Lookup New Feature Accounting
Transactions that have been settled in Elavon will now be scheduled to have their batch number and settlement dates looked up. Once this feature is configured for your application a service will periodically look up all payments made through Elavon that don’t have a batch number. When a transaction has been settled by Elavon the look up will retrieve the batch number and it will be written back to Alinity; the deposit date will also be derived from the settlement date they provide. The help desk will be working over the next several days to enable this service for clients using Elavon.
***************End of New Feature***************
***************Feature Update***************
Complaint Summary Feature Update Complaints
The complaint summary is now also available on the main tab of the complaint details. If the summary is too long to show all at once a “Show more” button will appear at the end of the text allowing you to expand it to the full size.
Organization Edit Feature Update Corporations
If you are editing an organization that is also a corporation you are now able to modify the incorporation date, corporation number and public directory comments as well.
Renewal Volume Comparison Report Grouping Feature Update Registration
Updated to group by month, rather than by year, to make it easier to compare relative renewal counts as the year progresses.
Withdraw Person and Organization Other Forms Feature Update General
The custom forms for people and organizations now allow for the form to be withdrawn from the administrator portal. Additionally on the member portal if the currently logged in user is the one who initially added the form and they can currently edit the form they will be able to withdraw it themselves.
***************End of Feature Update***************
***************Bug Fix***************
Overpaid Invoices Blocking Form Approval Bug Fix General
Previously approval of forms such as renewal or application was blocked if the member had an overpaid invoice. This happened due to the check that blocks approval for unpaid or partially paid invoices. Now in Alinity overpaid invoices do not block the approval of forms and unpaid or underpaid invoices do block approval.
***************End of Bug Fix***************
